Sharing our love of locally grown, organic oats with you.

We’ve been oat growers for over 30 years, sowing, growing and harvesting oats on our organic farm in the Scottish Borders. We’re also porridge lovers! Eating it religiously for breakfast every day (even in summer) and arguing over the best cooking techniques, timings and toppings.

And now we’ve made it our mission to share the best organically grown, naturally delicious Scottish oats with you too.

We’ve created our own range of porridge products so you can enjoy a natural, nutritious, farm-to-bowl breakfast with us. Our oats come from our own fields and the farms of other trusted organic growers in and around the Scottish Borders. We use our local mill - only 3 miles away - to turn the oats into tasty, good-for-you products. In fact we’ve been working with them since our very first crop 30 years ago!

Why are oats so great?

Here’s 10 reasons why oats are so great.

  1. They make porridge! A delicious breakfast that’s creamy and filling on its own, or a blank canvas for breakfast experimentation with flavours and toppings.

  2. They’re so versatile. Porridge is just the start - oats can also be used in cookies, smoothies, burgers and more! Browse our recipe book for ideas.

  3. They’re vegan friendly.

  4. They’re high in fibre, which aids digestion and gut health, and keeps you feeling fuller for longer.

  5. Different types of fibre in oats can also help to lower cholesterol.

  6. They’re low in fat, great for a balanced diet.

  7. They’re full of complex carbohydrates and energy-giving vitamins and minerals to give you the fuel you need to start your day!

  8. They’re a source of folic acid, which is great for your immune system.

  9. They’re higher in protein than most other grains. Protein is essential for growth and repair of the body and maintaining good health.

  10. Our oats are organic. Organic crops have been shown to contain more antioxidants than non-organic, and are also free from artificial pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers.

What does organic mean?

Organic means working with nature, not against it, to produce our oats. When nature thrives, we believe we get the best quality, naturally delicious oat crop.

In practice this means no manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers or pesticides, and more environmentally sustainable management of the land through crop rotation.

And all this leads to healthy, fertile soil, cleaner water, more carbon capture to combat climate change and more wildlife, as well as delicious oats! Organic farms are havens for wildlife - our farm is home to herons, kingfishers, otters, deer and much, much more.
