Supporting the COVID-19 response effort
We’re really glad to be able to do something small to help local folk who have found themselves in need because of the COVID-19 crisis.
Two weeks ago we got a call from a volunteer at the Bridgend Farmhouse in South Edinburgh, asking if we could supply our oats for their food resilience response project. A few days later, Eric, one of the chefs involved with the project, came down to the farm to pick up the first load of porridge oats!
The Bridgend Farmhouse food resilience response project is delivering three meals a day to over 300 people in its local area who are struggling due to COVID-19. They’ve quickly assembled a volunteer team of chefs, catering managers, logistics coordinators and more to run the whole project and make sure vulnerable people can still get nourishing meals. What a brilliant effort!
